Interesting, I'd have expected that to have a Thorn branded ballast. Has it been replaced?

Mine also has the same ballast as this. And so does one I seen on the Internet a couple of days ago!

It definitely needs a Thorn/GE-branded lamp in this! I didn't realise the α4 was being made as recently as 2006, I suppose that was after Thorn had stopped making autoleak-reactance transformers for SOX.

this has a transtar ballast in it i recon, or maybe venture lighting? The last alpha 4s used any old gear in them, whatever they could get hold of

Wondy why the PFC didn`t go in with the rest of the gear?

I was thinking that tbh. Plenty of room between the lamp and choke.

Unless it would get too hot in there for it?
