Osglim 6w beehive lamp, with sleeve.
This was found in an antique shop whilst on holiday by my mother, and as soon as I took it out the sleeve, I knew I had to have it!

By memory, this is a specialist lamp from 1942 made for darkrooms, the lamp being coated in a thick red lacquer to further dim the lamp down (as though it really needs it from neon....) Interestingly theres two etches on this lamp, one at the end beneath the lacquer showing 07 date code, and this one on the paint showing 11 as its date code.

I'm yet to power it, much like the other lamps I'd like to bring this up slowly on a variac rather than just showing 240v straight into it.

Now that's what I call a good find, complete with box too!

If only the antique shops that I've visited would have such beauties like this and especially from the 40s - you've struck gold there Cool

Looks like you've had quite a bit of luck there. Very nice!
