Have always liked this design of lantern, never actually seen one in use though.

very simelar to the Esla lit, not quiet as spectacular, as with the eslas you get individual twinkling mirrors beaming back at you in a crescent moon effect at night

These `optics` way back then, are not too far away to what you find in todays Sapphires!
