I ran mine up at full brightness it lamp that draws 1 amp. So i took a GE watt miser 120 watt reflector in series with it to light the DT red at full brightness

Did mine on full brightness from an 220-110 foreign travel transformer converter box. I connected the 220v-240 v line in to 120v and there was around 60v on the output side and it lighted this bulb fully. The red finish sure did smell after while too!
