what remained of the lamp packet, as it was in a damp cellar the packet had completely delaminated, so i saved the best bit which has made a decent photo if nothing else. Was a new tube, but one of the pins rotted off in the damp

My Grandad used to work at a powerstation, he retired in the 1980's, he used to bring back tungstens with this same electric board 'E' on the lamps, i have one new in a packet, same font in the orange lettering.

Before privatisation, the powerstation side of it was called the C.E.G.B. the Central Electricty Generating Board, when sold off it went to Powergen , think even that name has gone into the history books now

And you would have electricity board shops with TV adverts and a chearful jingle.

mind you wonder if EVERYONE was on the same tariff back then or weather the tariff varied for different company's / people / areas? Would other public facilities even still get a bill???

EDF Energy have me on a 14.88p per kWh at the minute I shopped around last month and got a quote for 10.28! That's a hell of a difference
