GE M250R2 200w SON: Prismatic glass bowl.
I noticed when I was in Mallorca where they had loads of these in use, that they give off very little glare and produce a very soft diffused beam of light with very soft shadows.
You can see why, the glass bowl has loads of moulded in prismatic lenses and the other side of the glass has them also in a different direction!
I was worried that this might not survive the trip across the Atlantic but I needn't have worried. This thing is very thick and weighs a tonne lol.
It's almost half the weight of the lantern lol.
A very nice bowl.
