Old HF ballasts are now interesting

I never used to find old HF gear interesting at all but now these days with it becoming rare I do like a good old Philips thorn or osram HF ballast. I found this early - mid 80s Thorn EMI ballast today letting it dry out as it’s been in a damp barn for decades god knows when this was last used this has the old classic blue PCB lol
