Cool, quite rare to find fully opal GLS lamps, guessing this looks similar to an opal candle or golf ball lamp lit up?

It does, similar to Philips softone but without the T-shape

Nice, there have been so many types of shapes and finishes of the standard GLS, quite interesting to see all the variants made over the years

I guess the soft White feature was reserved for the Philips Softone range of bulbs in the UK
I mean think about that, if the ordinary GLS bulbs were readily available in opal then the Softone bulbs would have struggled to sell, but that could be my guess
