CFL spots never seemed to be around that long - swept away by LED. I know a lot of people who switched directly from incandescent to LED without ever touching the CFL offeing that came in the middle

CFL spots were pretty much a doomed concept from the start since you have very little optical control with their diffused light, especially when you wanted a certain beam angle. Floods on the other hand were far more successful.
