YAG transparent CMH lamp for Research & Development.
Special 70w lamp with an arc tube made from Yttrium Aluminium Garnet whose crystal grains are so tiny that they do not scatter the light so a transparent ceramic arc tube can be created. This lamp was used for measuring electrode temperatures at full power.
There is still some scattering going on as the photo isn't quite sharp as a result.
