I think that the older versions of the /WDL were better, as they had tin in additional to the thallium and sodium.
The current version have the tin replaced by rare-earths, and rare-earths have much lower pressure than tin, and are less interesting me.
The current version also don't have radioactive elements, so there is a corona wire around the arctube that cause a glow discharge in the argon filling in the outerbulb, when the lamp igniting, producing UV radiation so to start the arctube.
