Nice, great save. Looks like it's had a stuck starter in it & has done mega hours. Ballast will likely still work fine.

These are in the block lobby, they're on 24/7. Ballast seems to be doing alright. Ends are a bit crusty.

Yeah they get like that, it'll be 'reet as long as the cables aren't disturbed too much. These ballasts are pretty hardy, I've seen them in similar & worse looking states than that and still working fine

This fitting is actually 2. The end cap was missing but I found another with a knackered ballast. Made this fitting. Wish the top plate'd turn up. Pulse starter included thank you very much!

I'm doing a quick and dirty test. Don't use that dodgy lead on fittings set up proper. Razz

That's cool then. Only thing you don't get to find out doing it that way is if the ballast has a short to the case....

nice find. I have one of these in my collection. I find them odd when S10 stater is used.

You can get megger testers fairly cheaply these days. Fantastic tool for locating faults!
