Cold windy wet horrible night VS 400W SON X 2 10 years ago I fitted this pair of Philips tempo 3 400 W floodlights. I have never had to repair them and they have never failed to light for me. Yes they only get occasional use but still there when I need them reliably. Something about the warmth of SON you just do not get with a horrible 6500k LED! I have these on a Wi-Fi switch with power monitoring and weirdly they only use 790 W for the pair!

Can't beat SON. The few roads that have still got their SON lanterns absolutely piss all over the ones lit with LED. Much brighter, better quality of light

No we didn’t have a bean here sadly rich. And yeh we don’t have any roads down here SON lit anymore closest is a few ZX3 in launceston then Devon

That's a shame. Still, not many left here either. Only a couple of A roads and roundabouts they've yet to do, presumaly as they'd need a full road closure. Have to laugh tho, the Azia 3's they installed are literally dropping like flies at around 2yrs old

Driving at night is horrible. There's a section of road here where it's still SON and the visibility is much better than the sections using LED.
