I guess the manufacturers should of put the glass arc tube shield around them !

No, bottom one is dead, when contractor, (Mack), fitted these lights at work, he supplied Osram HQI for them, sadly skinflint work did re-lamp with the same 5 years later, opting for Venture instead! Sad

, but no halide would explode if they were better looked after.
