never seen that pinch in the innar tube before, my 140's havent got that

This was Philips`s early version of the dimples to retain sodium, although the bamboo tube was more to do with keeping liquid sodium in the same place throughout the lamp life, as the glass inner was coated to stop the tube going brown, and the sodium didn`t stick very well to it
