Abandoned Holophane runway lights.
A recent walk took me near the site of the old Speke Airport in Liverpool.
The old airport terminal buildings dating from the 1930's was closed in 1986 when a new terminal building was built near the much larger new runway that was built in 1966.
The old runways were then dug up and left derelict until the area was later developed into a business park (where I now work).

A small section of runway and taxiway still exists however and I found some of these big Holophane AMWD Type LR/22-5D lights still there with even some paint still remaining on them!

Nor I. I googled the model number and couldn't find anything on them!
