AEI Residential 2X 2' lantern

For decades, this lone AEI Residential fluorescent lantern on its extremely short 3 meter Eleco column has stood untouched and in immaculate condition. Its remarkable that despite its low mounting height, the sheer size, and its vulnerable and exposed location that its not fell to vandalism. I have never known the lantern to work, the old cell looks like it was fitted around the early 80's, so at least three, perhaps four decades of disuse, though i fully expect it to work with two new tubes. There are two fluorescent lanterns in the town, both at different locations, this being the only intact one.
With the advent of a full site renovation, I expect this to fall foul of these works, so all the measures are being put into place to ascertain whether it is to be removed and also to ensure its safe rescue for the collection. Once its saved it will be restored and maybe even put into use on the rear of our house.
