Blooma Gino 10w 2D conversion - Internal layout
This is my 5'th conversion, and its also a conversion I've been wanting to achieve for a long time. I could never find the right bulkhead though, until I stumbled upon this tiny little thing, for a 40w GLS. Getting it home revealed that it never even had a lamp holder or terminal block or anything inside, the ideal blank canvas.
Everything you see here is stuff that I had just lying around going to waste, so I decided to utilise it all to make this 10w 2D bulkhead. The EC9 ballast seen here has since been swapped out for a EC13, the correct one. The stand the 2D lamp holder is secured to was originally a ballast clamp, this required heavy modification until it was the correct height for the lamp.

Powered up, it looks incredible, you can barely tell the shape of the lamp. There is a small shadow cast from the starter, but nothing major. The conversion as a whole, comes up as being one of my most favourite conversions I've achieved yet.

Once you've eventually opened it after getting past 6 screws, this is the sight that greets you. The heat sheathing over the cables I felt was a necessary addition here.

Good conversion. Normally the problem for such lantnerns is not the heat but the UV from the lamp hitting all plastic parts. The sleeving protects the wires but this affects also the terminal block, ballast terminal block, etc. It takes years to get damaged tho, so not a problem if it is in occasional use only
