Coughtrie CPS48 gear layout The Coughtrie CPS28 bulkhead has to be one of Coughtries most recognisable and most popular bulkheads for the company. Made with a massive range of options, the bulkhead could take SON lamps up to 150w and MBF lamps up to 125w, as well as two 16w 2D lamps to name but a few. The CPS48 is a combination previously unheard of until I saw this and managed to secure it. It has an option I hadn't even heard of in any bulkhead possible, a 32w Circline tube and 16w 2D in the centre. In typical Coughtrie fashion, the bulkhead is a heavyweight. The bulkhead is pictured here after first opening the gear tray. In typical Coughtrie fashion, the gear tray is cast aluminium also, which equates for the heavy weight of the bulkhead in all. Its one amazingly built fitting, and is obviously intended for decades of service, as every part is replaceable.

I remember the SON versions on the old ERF truck works in Sandbach!

Theres a SON example on the back of my local Iceland, rarely used so could have an original lamp. I think in all the time I've known about it, I've seen it lit twice at most.

A theatre in Paignton had 3 sox ones on the entrance when i was a kid. Sadly they all disappeared when a new covered entrance was fitted years ago
