Getting My 2 Cents Worth... A couple GE F14 - F20 switchstart chokes. Clearance tag said they were $1.82 each but...at the register they rang up for a whopping one cent each .lol. ------------- The 2 in this pic were connected in parallel a single F20T12 lamp, just to see what overdriving would be like. My next test (something I've always wanted to try) will be putting the 2 in series with a 4' lamp & running on 240v! I see no reason it shouldn't work, but that might be one for outside on the patio.

The 2 in this pic were connected in parallel a single F20T12 lamp, just to see what overdriving would be like.
My next test (something I've always wanted to try) will be putting the 2 in series with a 4' lamp & running on 240v! I see no reason it shouldn't work, but that might be one for outside on the patio.

Pretty good for 2 cent worth, as u can find that in home depot parking lot. It such a shame home depot ditching switch start chokes.

Nice score unfortunately these GE Chokes heavily under drive F20T12s so you might need to put 2 in parallel to drive an F20 at full power LMAO (250Ma is just enough for an F17T8 let alone an F20T12) 2 in series on 240V driving an F32T8 might work well tho

Did a couple tests with a F20T12...
1 ballast: .25a / 18w
2 ballast in parallel: .54a / 35w

Yes factoring in the ballast lost. It not uncommon ballast with lamps draw 30 watts for 20 watt lamp.
