Atlas/Thorn PP65 5ft 65W Popular pack fitting control gear (spot the error!)
here is the control gear of one of the previously uploaded NOS Atlas/Thorn Popular packs, and see if you can spot the error :) its quite interesting to see how far back this style of control-gear goes, both this style of starter and open-frame choke is something you would normally associate with later fixtures from the late 70's or early 80's, but the capacitor in the fixture is still a distinctly old school very long-large affair with exposed pin-connections, so its a curious transitional fixture in that regard besides the branding transition also :)

Oops. Someone messed the label up then. Both incorrect?

Transitional error that is Smile anyhow that fixture has its starter tucked in unlike the usual 'stick out'

Love it!, it’s got the SOX fabrication choke in it!, I wonder what the slight difference is in how these are wound?

Those type of Ballasts Thorn used were real tanks! Those and the slim 90s Thorn ballasts put upwith all sorts of abuse even when left on stuck starter for 12h per day for 5 days a week for a good 5 years they would work just fine with a new tube and starter
