SJL LED Driver From Bell Fitting - Failure
SJL branded led driver from a failed Bell 40W LED batten. Said batten is only about 18 months old and has seen irregular use in a (domestic) garage. Was gonna have a go at repairing this driver but I guess replacement will be a better option lol!

That's quite an impressive little burn out lol.

That went bang!

Fluorescent would be better yes but the customer doesn't want that. I'm struggling to find a suitable driver now at a reasonable price- great.

With LED, replacing the entire fitting is probably intended. LEDs are very sensitive but it wouldn't surprise me if the LEDs were taken out with the driver. Probably best to just replace the entire fitting with a JCC one or something.

The LED strip has been tested on a bench power supply & all LEDs are fine, as I say the fitting has not done many hours at all.

I've found a few 950mA constant current power supplies that also cover the voltage range, I'll probably order one of them.

Also JCC is complete garbage -not saying Bell is any better lol!

Bell lol this is what Redruth school decided would be a good idea to fit.

Primary faults like this normally dont blow up anything connected at the power supply output

I’m surprised at this?, I’ve found SJL drivers to be more reliable than Tridonic!
