This is not the first time GEC have used old cap stock on newer lamps. This tube is definitely made in 1979. The same thing occurred in May 1980 when 1970 nickel caps were incorporated into 13W T5 lamps. I think the vicar has one of them.

I have a 2ft 40W from 04/1969 with the same brass caps.

So this is a new old stock tube that had new old stock parts fitted when new? lol

happy days indeed, the question is, will the caps become loose (which hardly ever happens on a liteguard)
