does anyone know what mushrooms were all about lamp wise? like why did they make them? what was the benefit over a standard pearl lamp?

Had not heard of Timothy Whites before, thanks for the info. Apart from this I had only ever seen 1 other TW branded lamp in someone else's collection. I have never seen a Boots branded lamp before but have the wrapper for a Boots 150w mushroom lamp (pity the lamp is nowhere to be found!)

Mushroom lamps were generally Krypton filled for a slightly higher lumen output and extended life.
