2007 Radium HRI-T 400W MG magenta metal halide lamp

While BLV from Steinhörig is the manufacturer in Germany with the most extensive catalogue inventory of coloured metal halide lamps, going form 70W to 1000W that did not mean that they are the only manufacturer of these lamps in Germany. The Radium plant in wipperfürth was extensively used for the manufacture of specialty and low volume metal halide lamps, many of them that were never listed in catalogs. Osram mentioned in catalogues only 400W and 150W HQI-TS lamps in colour with colours being offered being blue, green and magenta. However 70W, 250W and 1000W lamps have also already been seen, indicating that radiums custom lamp products are way more divers then shown in the catalogs.

Most commonly found are blue MH lamps by Osram/Radium because they were popular with aquariums. This is then followed by green lamps for landscape lighting. This Magenta lamps seems to be quite a bit rarer with this example being the first one I have ever came across.

The Osram/radium lamps seems to be the best regarding colour intensity, with the colour on this picture being realistic.
