1951 Thorlux 5ft 80W BC fluorescent tube trough reflector fixture

rescued this a while back, after a tip off about it from outside the lighting sphere (making it universally known amongst all friends and family that one has a keen interest in lighting, sure comes in handy!) a beast of a fluorescent fixture, had to rescue it of course, a great example of the archetypal British 5ft 80W BC reflector fixture you would see in some many old factory photos and the such like, something I am most pleased to have in my collection
theres a date im pretty sure of 1951 on the Capacitor (and the MRJ104 choke was discontinued by 1955 so no later than that) so I am pretty sure thats when it dates to
as you can see despite being 75 years old it fired up without any issue, it came with just the end cap remains of a later skirted BC cap tube, but for such a fixture I thought a proper GLS capped BC tube would be most fitting so after some precautionary checks I installed one of those from my collection which I had acquired from Andy previously in a trade we did, which I think it completes/complements the fixture perfectly :) and as a cherry on top, I installed my one and only thermal starter from my collection, an Osram OS8T that Funkybulb (Jeremy) had very kindly sent me many many years ago also because I have never actually seen an 80W thermal starter in action and finally had the perfect thing to try it with :) a video of the thermal starter and tube's first start can be seen here
as above it is an extremely robust unit, and the thing that stands out to me is the whole lever operated latching mechanism that holds the reflector to the rest of the unit, its the antithesis of the itty-bitty plastic turnbuckles you see on a later Thorn popular pack of Fitzgerald Lightpack! the fixture also has a bulgin plug and socket for quick connection/disconnection a little spring loaded flap to cover the socket hole! the reflector has also managed to keep itself extremely clean and reflective, I have not had need to clean that side of the fixture!

I of course have a handful of regular Halophosphate 65W/80W tubes but I would like something with more CRI
