Got to ask, is that a 2' 40w ballast or a 4' 40w.....

2' 40W.

Then I'm VERY jealous! I can't find a 2' 40w ballast for a single tube anywhere Sad

Any chance of a front-on shot of ballast and label please?

It was the last one I suspect and I almost feel guilty for acquiring it.

I've got a switch-start ballast for a pair of 2' 40w tubes, but then, you can use any old 80w ballast for that. Have to resort to using a pair of 20w ballasts in parallel, but these don't fit in a single 2' batten Sad Mind you, that wouldn't fit in anything.....

Ballast pictures in ballast album.

I've converted a 2' twin for 2 x 40W switchstart using a Philips Polyslim 80W choke, which is also listed for 2 x 2' 40W. With 5uF PFC capacitor there's no room left. It gets hot as well - so inefficient, but interesting.

I'd like to be able to run a single tube, in a fitting, but with 2 x 20w ballasts in the fitting, there's no room for cable entry or anything else for that matter. Those got hot too!
