lol, theres some people of a certain vintage on here ! me too, the Mk1 tesco store in my town had 4 tube 8 foot atlantic 3 fittings, built in 1971, now a primark yuk! no trace of the atlantics now, seen old newpaper cuttings where Ronnie corbett of the 2 ronnies opened the tesco and you could see the 4 tube fittings end on end. Fine fare, thats another one from the long distant past, what about liptons ? we had one here, but that had twin superslim 8 foot twins, photos on my derelict gallery page just before demolition. carnt remember the last time i saw twin atlantic 8 foot 85 watt fittings, except in my kitchen lol

LOL..yep I am of a certain vintage. We didnt get Liptons but we did get Elmo but I cannot remember what fittings they had! Our first Tesco opened around 1963.when the shopping centre opened in the early 1970s we then got a Safeway they also had the 4 tube Atlantics.Woolworths had twin 8' fittings but I cannot remember what type atm Currys also had the same with Cool white tubes.

childhood memories of shopping on saturday mornings, our woolworths was an early 70's opened shop, it had weird 3 tube 8 foot fittings, never seen them anywhere before or since, in the later days they removed the middle tubes to save electric, the fittings remained after woolies went bust, and another cheap shop took over, but now its all stripped out and gone. I also remember the buzzed very loudly some of them
I might be wrong but I think they had those odd fittings in the Penrith woollies.

Childhood memories of going shopping with our parents when we were more interested in the ceiling than the goods on sale. I got these tubes powered up this weekend. Pictures to follow soon.
