That's superb. I'm crap at making stuff like this so don't even try. You should take orders for fabrications like this - I'd buy one!

Certainly a very unique desk light that. Sort of thing you might have seen for £100+ in somewhere like Habitat 20 or so years ago

I actually tried using this as a proper table lamp for mood lighting but the light quality is shit. Really needs a proper 830 lamp but I bet no such things exists!

This is well cool. 20W 830 U tube probably did exist but rare AF now. Don’t even know if GE ever produced the 20W in Hungary?

I wonder if a T5 8 watt could be gently bent into a U like this?

I tried to bend some once and it just "sucked in" when the glass softened.

That's the issue.... As the tube is largely under vacuum, you can't bend them easily. Either need to do something in dime kind of chamber at the same level of vacuum (which would be incredibly hard) or bend the tube prior to vacuum and capping, which I'd imagine is almost as hard. There's a reason bent tubes for escalators, etc cost so much

@AngryHorse: I have an 8W U shape tube that SilverRay kindly sent me a few years back. I thought it was on the gallery but can't find it so will get it uploaded soon.
