My box of ballasts
Big variety here. Most were apparently from an electrician who would strip the ballasts from fittings he took down to fit into ones that needed replacements. He of course got old and retired and left them in a box as he no longer had a use for them. Seemed more than happy for me to have them. This is an old 'getting'. Im sure you remember the pic of these I posted on the Facebook groups.

This is a nice collection of quality ballasts. Look to be mostly from the 70s & 80s.

I have 2 big steel boxes of ballasts up the loft, one has 6 250watt SON ballasts in it!, I don`t know how it hasn`t fell through the ceiling!

And how many electricians today would save ballasts from fittings to repair others with. How many electricians today would even know HOW to repair a fluorescent light (save for those on boards like this)? It's sad, but they'd find any excuse now just to rip the fitting out and replace it with LED.
AngryHorse   [05 Feb, 2018 at 10:42 PM]
Time is money for most self employed sparks though, its probably quicker to change the fitting?
Slyspark   [05 Feb, 2018 at 10:47 PM]
But that said, the longer you're there, the more you earn.....
lampy   [05 Feb, 2018 at 10:53 PM]
