Energizer 230W halogen linear lamps

Bought this in late 2024 - that reminds me I need to properly stock up on these to keep my mum's halogen uplighter going - not using the LED substitute linear lamps cos they'll nowhere near achieve the light quality that she needs

Where did you get these from? Seems recently they must have been banned as I can only find the ~120W ones readily available, while the higher wattages in 118mm seem to have gone Confused

Those LED ones are ok but they cannot replace halogen in terms of light output for the small size.

and pity that the higher wattage lot seem to be getting very hard to find Sad

it is for my mum's halogen uplighter (or torchiere fixture) that she needs to use when she plays on the piano. I am not putting any of the LED retrofit ones because as you described the light output will nowhere match the halogen brightness

Ah yes that's where I got some of mine from, I used to get them from Screwfix but they now only have a 3 pack of 140W 118mm ones and that's it, no more 230W/400W (300W/500W) ones Sad

Yeah the whole point of that fitting is to have a nice bright light, and a good colour etc Cool

You'd be best off getting Thorn or GE ones from eBay!
