Philips Combi RX (former) SOX lanterns in northern Spain
Noia, in Galicia (northern Spain) is still lit by quite an eclectic mix of lanterns, mainly HPS Indalux products, some Philips and Spanish GE, and even the odd older mercury on quieter roads. However I spotted two installations of these Philips (once) SOX lanterns, these with LED "corncob" lamps in, but some had elliptical HPS lamps retrofitted in them which leads me to believe that these were already converted quite a long time ago.

Interesting design, looks like a cross between a US 55 watt lantern and a Tamcort? Smile

Yes, that's what I thought too - they have quite an American look to them!

I don't think I've ever seen a SOX lantern in Spain, only SON, Fluorescent, MBF and various types of Halide
