Thorn Dumpy. A very unusual fitting by anyones standards, if not rather ugly, the Dumpy never saw popularity, hence becoming rather rare from day one. They were offered in a very wide range of colours, and were designed to try and brighten up the otherwise boring colour choices so frequently offered then. Taking 1 60w crown silvered lamp, glare issues is not a problem. the fitting held in the collection came from a charity shop. To find one used is hard enough but to find a NOS one is even harder, so when i saw this whilst rummaging through stuff, I had to pick it up. I've only lit it once, but even though its a crown silvered lamp, light output is extremely good.

The red on this is so vivid, the camera even struggled to replicate it where it was lighter.

Yes, I keep seeing this and thinking fire alarm. Got a real 70s retro look to it that I kind of like.

lol at fire alarm I keep thinking a puffie whenever I see it! Interesting as we were just talking about crown slivers the other day on here. At least unlike modern thorn it doesn't have LED chips or a electronic devise to pack up and go wrong lol

Cool little uplighter, bet their quite effective too.
