Are those little spots in the tube burnt off emitter?

That's the other tube of indeterminate origin, and probably yes. It could be the product of both ends after movement.

lampy it's 5' twin. No idea of the make but it has side mounted screwdriver release fuses in case of catastrophic ballast failure. They can run the tubes to ultimate destruction. Shocked

sound like an atlas atlantic fitting, as its white, i'd say atlantic 4 from 1972 onwards, pre 72 was the atlantic 3 which had the grey sides, these had the side mounted fuse holder

Atlantic's seem to hammer the tubes at EOL i've noticed but strange thing is the SRS PP's seem to be more gentle with EOL tubes Confused
