Iris Iode 125v 500w halogen lamp
This was a recent Ebay find, it really is quite bright! It's a nice piece of NOS stock. Iris was the name used by French Mazda (Compagnie des Lampes) to sell lamps in the UK as Mazda was already used by BTH, AEI and later by Thorn.

These are decent ‘mini sun’ lamps Very Happy, I’ve got a Philips version of this, (I think it’s Philips)?, and the tube glows purple when you turn it off! Cool

I've got a few of these in various wattages and voltages. Cracking lamps. They still use them on cruise ships in big floodlights lighting the side of the ship up at night. Probably for emergency reasons as if you need to launch lifeboats then you probably don't have a stable electrical system and you don't want discharge restriking.
