Philips 1000w HPL-N: Full Power
Decided that as I had my Thorn one lit not long ago I should fire up this old beasty that I got from Dan years and years ago :)
These things don't half kick out some heat! 
Gave myself a bit more UV exposure lol.

I measured the total system power this time and with 247v input I got 1083w with a PF of 97. Not bad.

I bet that lit the room up good. Didn't you light one of these outside years ago and attract every flying insect within a mile radius?

Indeed, and that wasn't even at full power back then as I only had two 400w mercury chokes. Why did it take me this long to get a kW ballast? lol
