NOS Thorn Alpha 8 gear
This i could not believe. On the 6'th March, the last day of a 2 week work experience at the local street lighting depot, i went to a different lighting depot about 30 miles away, and was allowed onto the roof of the offices (this was under the actual roof), where no one has stepped for years. I saw this lantern lay on its back, bowl less, and filthy. Rooting around, i found the bowl, again absolutely caked in dust. Once i had got it home, i cleaned it and had a look at the gear. As you can see, no discoloured wires or soot, meaning The lantern is NOS, so you can imagine my surprise and excitement. That day, I came away with this and another NOS lantern, as well as 6 NOS bowls for a GEC Z8600.

It wasnt as clean as this when i first got it, it was full of dust. I carefully got down into just about every last conceivable place possible to clean it out.

you've done a great job, least it never corroded, as even new old stock can corrode in the damp. What was the other lantern you found?

An NOS Gamma 5 still in its box, although annoyingly missing its spigot adapter, so in desperate need of one.

Yeah Im amazed it hasnt corroded as well considering its location was right by an open air vent.
