NOS Thorn Alpha 8 lamp area

This i could not believe. On the 6'th March, the last day of a 2 week work experience at the local street lighting depot, i went to a different lighting depot about 30 miles away, and was allowed onto the roof of the offices (this was under the actual roof), where no one has stepped for years. I saw this lantern lay on its back, bowl less, and filthy. Rooting around, i found the bowl, again absolutely caked in dust. Once i had got it home, i cleaned it and had a look at the gear. The lantern turned out to be NOS, so you can imagine my surprise and excitement. That day, I came away with this and another NOS lantern, as well as 6 NOS bowls for a GEC Z8600. The lanterns shown here after a good scrub.
