These are the older ventures too! They have all new framework now

They’re good lamps, they’re as bright as the PIAs, one of them (without a packet), came from Kev along with a Sylvania, I think I swapped him for an MBTF

Cool, I have a 2012 70w venture in nightly use in my garden, it’s on 18 months now and looks barely run in!

The Nordex Astra had a 70 watt Venture, (Edison branded), in when I retired that Cool

A lot of people hated these lamps and I remember kevs reaction to these back in the good old LG days he wouldn’t even use these lol. I don’t think they’re that bad. If this lasts 3-4 years I think that’s ok?

I'd always heard to avoid venture from the forums but I haven't ever tested any myself to find out, they also seem to have upped their game with some of their more recent lamps, they look better quality in construction anyway, with the framework and gettering being done more neatly than some of their earlier ones.
3-4 years dusk til dawn is fine imo, maybe not as good as some of the 90's Philips and Osram etc. but acceptable for general use, especially if you double it for 6-8 years considering part night use.

Have this lamp a yellowish colour similar to mercury free HPS lamps?

China Venture lamps were always quite good tbh although they went through a stage in 2012 & 13 with there SON HO Lamps where they were only lasting out from 1 night to 6-12 months to max of 3 years.. Venture 150w and 250w SON T's were the king of the lot tho lasting a whopping 13-15 years as seen by some really ripe and pinked out ones here in Urbis stratos lanterns that are still holding on!

I don't think venture SON are made in China now tho i think there made in India with what looks to be Ge Lucalox Arc Tubes in!?

dor:, no, they’re indistinguishable from any other manufacturer when running Cool, I’ve seen mercury free lamps in use in Stoke on Trent and they look just awful Shocked
