Familiar sight Rolling Eyes what fitting was this in? They sometimes survive when bolted directly to the metal spine or have a trough reflector

@Oliver: Yeah about five days lol. Probably been on a stuck starter loads previously though
@Patrick: it was in a Thorn Pop Pack and yeah floating 'mid air' on one of the crappy spring steel clip things found in later Pop Packs

So basically having a ballast supported mid air spring setup is not rly ideal then

Sometime in 2004 Thorn introduced that spring steel clip, but this was a problem in Crompacks with those raised choke spacers from 2001/2 onwards, Tridonic changed something Rolling Eyes

The only fixture that is in use at my parents house that uses Tridonic ballast is the Tamlite 58W one from 2004 - I put a B&Q starter which is Philips S10 made in Poland and I ensure that it doesn't get stressed by either stuck starter or an EOL tube
