TD halide foil seal issue possibly?
Digging out my halide box last night, I remember Kev’s post from 4 years ago about his CDMs all scrap because of an issue with the pinch seals?, I also have 2 CDMs and an Osram Powerball with similar oddities in that area?, the power ball runs perfectly, but I’m wondering for how long?

Seems to be an issue with other brands too - I've binned off loads of double ended halides over the years where this has failed. Poor design I think.

Yeah this is mildly infuriating Mad!, I had my other, ‘brand new’ CDM-TD dead but from a cracked tube stem itself than the seal ends, and a 150 watt GE ceramic that also refuses to start, probably again from the same reason!, all these lamps had been carefully stored! Confused Thankfully my Osram Powerball is ok Wink

I've also had it with linear halogens, does seem to be a poor design, I wonder if the Osram ones with the integrated glass caps would fare better? They certainly look more robust and the seals are quite deeply set into the glass.
