DIY Dual-tap 100-150w SON/MBI Gearbox: Internals
Showing the insides of a gearbox that I threw together for running 100 and 150w high-pressure sodium or metal halide lamps.

Nice dual tap Tridonic ballast, ignitor and PFC capacitor.

All wired in tri-rated cable, soldered as well as crimped terminals, bootlace ferrules and all earthed covers, the usual stuff.

That model of Tridonic ignitor, ZRM 4.5-ES/TC, has rising clamp screw terminals which is very nice indeed.

Looks good, very professional as always! I do like that dual tap 100/150W ballast, a shame they weren't more common as it would be a nice way to switch between wattages in lanterns too Smile
