Redruth School LED low bays REPAIRED
All sorts of questions about these lights lol the schools “other” electrical contractor quoted to do these lights at a cost tens of 1000 more than we quoted to “repair” the existing.
I got asked some interesting questions before this job was given to us…. Will the colour be the same…. Will they be the same brightness….will they all look the same…. Are you sure the emergencies will work….
The other contractor it seems told the school these were impossible to repair and needed to all be replaced.
Sadly I was one driver short as we didn’t realise throughout the day 3 of them go off and don’t come back on until the next day lol.

At least they have bene repaired and saved a load of waste from the skip. Comes to something when people are now saying LED is obsolete and needs to be replaced! I'm sure some HF fluorescent is more reliable than this though...

Other contractor probably would have put up some nasty cheap LED UFO glare bombs. I'm surprised they had so many issues with these here seem quite good in the local B&Q (ex Homebase) since 2017. But Tesco have recently ripped out their Dextra Skylight LEDs Rolling Eyes

Tell you what Pat there is some fucking heat in these coming off the back these weigh about 25kg and the batteries on the back just get cooked

No wonder the batteries don't last then, especially with the quality of batteries now!

Hopefully they chose a more common battery type for these and can be sourced/replaced, compared to throw away culture of bulkheads/frog eye spots now
