One on the right looks like it's really better suited to larger SON-T lamps.

My 150W SON example does indeed use the one on the right, I wonder what the difference in the specs of the lanterns are when ordering for them to come with two types of optic

On the rare cases we have SON Evolos in my area, they do have the bigger optic. The times the bigger optic is used for CPO on 5 and 6M columns, it's always at the end of a cul-de-sac pointing up the road. All the rest on the street are always the other type. So I imagine the right hand lantern pushes more light forwards. The labels inside them are different I believe; they have the full product code on them. I don't remember which part is offhand but there is definitly a part for the optic type and a part for curved or flat glass.

That makes sense, also good to hear they put some thought into the design of the installation if they are specifying different optics for different positions. I don't recall ever seeing anything like that here.
