310w G.E.C SONP-T Solarcolour 1 x 310w G.E.C SON lamp for use on 400w MBF choke with external ignitor. It's interesting to note that this lamp has the support frame and ceramic bracket for mounting a snap starter on but the actual snap starting mechanism has been omitted in this case. I love this style of G.E.C packaging tbh.

Real shame GEC didn't carry on - their products were excellent. I guess the base for the snap starter allows them to make just one 'base' product, then add the starter when it's required fopr that particular production run. Saves costs on designing 2 different la,ps and the tooling, etc that goes with that. My best guess anyway

Very nice, I like the dimples these used for the support frame. Don't see those very much with tubular lamps Cool
