Glare shield
I run most of my lamps in an enclosed test cell which is basically a Fitzgerald Low-Bay Luminaire with the gear ripped out and an IEC socket added.
I just plug in the gearbox that I want and off I go. The safety glass comes in handy for running enclosed rated lamps for extended periods, or ones that kick out quite a bit of UV. When running upside down, it makes a brilliant uplighter!
I have a myriad of E40 adapters to fit pretty much anything from PGZ12 to GX9.5!

I do run lamps out in the open for various reasons, I may want to let a lamp settle for several hours before photographing it but sometimes I am in the room working and the glare is quite annoying.
A simply solution is this bit of curved aluminium plate which shields the lamp from direct view and then just swings out of the way when I am ready to take the photo!
it also directs light back onto the steel cupboard behind and makes for a nice diffused light source!
