Soldi & Scatti - Solcam DSC1000 lantern - finally lit
Two week's ago, a new igniter was sourced for the Soldi & Scatti DSC1000 lantern. It was promptly fitted ready for round two of trying to fire this enormous lantern up.

This time it sprang into life immediately, and once fully run up to its 130,000 lumens output, holy crap was it bright! Despite that though, what surprised me is that it really wasn't glary at all, and the light control is incredible. I'm yet to light it at night, though part of me is telling me I probably shouldn't cause this'll probably do more than just light the garden...

Very nice! What lamp is it running?

Its contained reasonably well within the space but it still lit the back of our house up considerably, even in daylight, so this'll be a lantern we'll be lighting when my next meet is announced!

The lamps an old Shaw Osram lamp, I would guess about the same age as the lantern. I'll get some pics of it when I can access the lantern again!
