Lol that fitting and lamp look like they will last donkeys years! Davy pulled out a wotan 50W merc the other day from 1989 or something stupid! Just a dim glow but still working

, the rope light you mentioned can be seen better in the day here, you can just make out the light feed above the window sill.

That goo at the back is an overdose of expanding builders foam in the spigot and hole, so as to keep crawling things from dying in my nice clean bowl!

I wouldn't bother they WILL still find a way to crawl in there and die just to annoy you!

This one was the Nightwatch 70 version, it had the original ballast still in it, but no lamp, I had it in the loft for years until I decide to re-paint it and put it to work.
