This was in the skip too! Don't know if it'll work with either of the 1Kw ballasts as it looks like it needs a dedicated tapping??

After reading up, the 'BR' connection uses the ballast's 220v tapping if the lamp is wired to 240v, and vice versa. And I think it should start Metal Halide lamps as they seem to have a lower striking voltage, maybe I'll try it, but I have bought another one that specifically states it's for both SON and MH that arrived today
