Coughtrie Ultralux 400
One of my best car boot finds is this absolutely massive Coughtrie Ultralux 400. Under normal circumstances I probably wouldn't have gone for it, just because of its rather unwieldly size, however spotting that it takes two 36w Dulux F lamps, I snapped it up immediately. Getting it home, I opened it up to find a rather odd Menvier sticker inside saying it was converted to emergency, however taking the reflector off revealed no such conversion had occurred, all it revealed was a rather messy wiring job. That was sorted immediately, and upon applying power, it sprang into life, possibly for the first time ever since it was made back in 2002. Its insanely bright, it'd light a large area with no trouble at all.

Interesting, I've one with the same chassis here I think, but it's a 70W halide example - this one must be far more unusual.

Certainly a first for me this one, it was one of those things I knew I couldn't leave without. Its on the bloody heavy side too, I ended up walking round the whole car boot trying to find my mother so I could get the car keys to put it in the car Laughing
